Momentum offers support to voluntary and community organisations working with 11-19-year-olds to help them run high quality, safe, and inclusive services for young people. We recognise that youth workers in these groups often work without much support. We have therefore created a Youth Work Network to provide opportunities for youth workers to come together and share best practices and offer support.
Who can join?
All youth workers are welcome, whether paid or volunteer, from a village youth club or a countywide youth organisation that:
- Works with children, young people aged 11-19, and up to 25 years for those young people with SEND.
- Provide services to young people in Norfolk.
Any number of people from the same organisation may join, attend meetings, and participate in network agenda-setting.
We do also welcome Statutory Organisations that provide services to children and young people to join our Network, as we recognise the value of cross-sector sharing and collaboration.
Why should I join?
The Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) in Norfolk consists of hundreds of groups delivering support and services to children and young people. For our sector to be effective we must support one another, understand how our services can work collaboratively together, and raise key issues that impact our sector and those we represent.
The Momentum Youth Work Network exists to do just that and much more:
- We ensure there is plenty of time to discuss and communicate key challenges across the youth work sector.
- We allow the network to lead us by allowing members to vote on what they would like to discuss.
- We provide opportunities to build relationships and network with others.
- We can help you stay informed and equipped in a rapidly changing sector.
- We strive to ensure that your views are represented at a strategic level.
- Youth Work Network members are kept up to date through emails and via our socials.
