Recognition for South Norfolk Volunteers

Every year, Wymondham and Attleborough Charity Darts League (WADL) raises money for local good causes that benefit the South Norfolk community. We are honoured that this year, our South Norfolk Health Volunteer Service was nominated to receive a donation from the league.

Wymondham and Attleborough Charity Darts League held a closing presentation for the winter season on 18th April at Wymondham & District Ex-Services Social Club. It was a lively event at which the winners of the season were announced and attendees were able to test their luck in a raffle. Events, such as this, are invaluable for creating opportunities to bring the community together and recognise local good causes. The representatives of the league, keen to celebrate this community spirit, do their best to support local causes with donations that are collected throughout the season. Our Health Volunteer Service was one of the six incredible local causes to receive a donation of £500 this year.

This is a testament to the tremendous work our team and volunteers have been doing. The service, which was commissioned by NHS South Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group, has now almost 300 active volunteers. Last year, our amazing volunteers brought friendship and support to over 500 people living with long-term health conditions or experiencing social isolation and loneliness.

We would like to thank the Darts League again for their support and to our hundreds of volunteers for the time they give freely to support local residents. We will strive to build upon the work and achievements of the service to reach and support more people in South Norfolk.
