Bright Lights, Big Smiles expected as Glow Your Own Way returns
Popular light festival is set to return to Magdalen Square this weekend
Last year’s festival proved a great success!
The hugely popular Glow Your Own Way Winter Light Night is back by popular demand! After the success of last year’s event, Freshly Greated is delighted to bring this free community celebration back to Magdalen Square in Gorleston on Saturday 21st February 2026 from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
Event organisers have promised another magical evening of light, colour, music and performance as they invite people of all ages to come together to explore emotions, share joy and strengthen community spirit.
This year, Freshly Greated has teamed up with a wide range of community groups and charities to make the festival even more special. One key partner is the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, who have worked with Freshly Greated to offer exciting activities in the run-up to the main event.
Ahead of the festival itself, there will be Biofluorescence Walks in the grounds of Great Yarmouth Minster, where families can explore the wonders of night-time nature under ultraviolet light with expert guides from Norfolk Wildlife Trust. This sold-out event, includes sessions designed for families and a SEND-friendly session to make the experience accessible for all.
The Freshly Greated team have also worked with the likes of Norfolk and Waveney Mind as well as local churches St Mary Magdalene Church and Magdalen Way Methodist Church, who have supported the event through their volunteers and the use of their spaces as venues.
What to expect at this year’s Glow Your Own Way Festival?
On the festival night, Magdalen Square will be filled with stunning light installations, performances, interactive art and creative activities. The event is shaped by members of the local community, particularly Freshly Greated’s Community Producers who volunteer their time to co-create fantastic events in the areas they live. It is designed to be fun, hopeful and uplifting, offering something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.

Madeleine Snowdon, who is organising the event for Freshly Greated, said:
“It has been our absolute pleasure to work with Community Producers and the wider community on the Mag to bring Glow Your Own Way to life. Events like Glow Your Own Way play an important role in supporting creative communities in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, helping neighbours connect and share experiences with one another while having fun.
“Join us this weekend on Magdalen Square to light up the evening with fantastic performances, mindful and creative activities for all ages, and exciting experiences to share with friends and family. Ultimately Freshly Greated is about more than individual events; it’s about connection, creativity, and community. We can’t wait to see people come together at this and our future events.”
Glow Your Own Way is free to attend and welcomes everyone regardless of whether you live locally or are visiting Gorleston for the event. It is a chance to meet new people, celebrate creativity, and enjoy art and light together as a community. For more details, click here.
