Engaging Young People in Green Projects Workshop

Next week, Voluntary Norfolk will be putting on a workshop about ways of engaging young people in green projects.

This workshop is suitable for anyone working or volunteering for a community organisation that either supports young people, families and children or provides a green service (for example conservation, food growing or horticulture) or does both!

Over the course of the event we will hear from Alex Day from the Green Influencers Scheme and Nick Sanderson from the Broads Authority. The workshop will then break into smaller groups where participants can discuss the challenges and opportunities provided by getting young people to engage in green projects.

Please sign up here.

About the speakers:

Alex Day will deliver a short talk that describes practical examples and case studies to help inspire nature connectedness on a budget, wherever you are. The Green Influencers Scheme, which he is involved in, invites young people across Norfolk to lead on environmental youth social action projects.

Nick Sanderson is Education Officer for the Broads Authority. The Broads National Park offers the perfect opportunity for young people to learn outside and have the kind of experiences that can inspire a lifetime of caring for the environment whilst also building confidence, self esteem and practical skills. Nick will share practical ideas to engage and inspire young people in discovering and caring for the natural world.
