Back to the ’90s with bucket hats!

That’s it – the Back to the ’90s bucket hat workshops put on by Freshly Greated have been a terrific success with nearly 500 hats designed and decorated over three days this week.

Freshly Greated is a creative initiative for the people in Great Yarmouth, funded by Arts Council England and led by the local community with support from Voluntary Norfolk, Out There Arts, Creative Collisions, Jays UK Ltd and Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

The bucket hat workshops took place at Cobholm Academy, in the Market Gates shopping centre and at St Mary Magdalene Church in Gorleston over three consecutive days this week. The aim was to inspire creativity, especially among young people this half term in preparation for the Back to the ’90s street festival Freshly Greated are putting on next week.

We’re really grateful to everyone who came along and especially to the artists who helped create the 100s of bucket hats. Special thanks go to: Say It With Stitch GY, Reprezent Project and Original Projects for their help in making the events so successful

The bucket hats created will add extra colour to the Back to the ‘90s street processions that Freshly Greated have organised for next week (from 22nd to 24th February). For more information about those events, please click here.

We hope you can make come along next week!
