Moving Towards Work through Volunteering

In the past few months we have been working closely with Norfolk Community Learning Services to deliver our Volunteering for Skills course helping people get closer to employment. After having run the course in Norwich and Great Yarmouth we have been getting some lovely feedback from our participants.

The course is all about drawing attention to the incredible value of volunteering and is especially useful for those who have been unemployed for a period of time. During the course participants identify many skills they can develop through volunteering and after completion they are prepared to start looking for the right volunteering opportunity for them. Valuable information, better understanding and increased confidence are only some of the things our participants got from the course. See for yourself in the comments below:

“I should be thanking you, for running such a great course! … it has really opened my eyes to the vast array of opportunities to be found via volunteering. It has also increased my confidence, in that volunteering seems the ideal way to overcome the ‘gap’ in my CV. I will certainly be doing my best to stick to my action plan of finding a suitable role in the very near future.”

“Thanks so much for everything, the course was so informative and invaluable, I have gained so much more confidence and feel ready to progress further.”

“Thanks again for the course, it’s definitely given me that push I needed to get things moving and applying for roles”

The course is delivered over two days and is absolutely free! We already have other courses available in Thetford in May and Great Yarmouth in June.
