End of Year/New Year’s Message

End of Year/New Year’s Message from Voluntary Norfolk

Dear Friends,

As we warmly welcome the New Year, I wanted to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who dedicated your time and efforts to make a positive impact by volunteering in Norfolk in the last twelve months. This commitment to volunteering is truly commendable, and I (and everyone at Voluntary Norfolk) are immensely thankful for your selflessness.

Volunteers like you play a crucial role in strengthening the fabric of our communities. In the face of the challenges posed by the cost-of-living crisis over the last year, your hard work becomes even more remarkable. I regularly hear heart-warming stories from people who benefit from the work of volunteers. Your contributions touch the lives of those in need and fostering a spirit of togetherness. In times of adversity, your unwavering support has been a beacon of hope, making Norfolk a better place for all.

What Voluntary Norfolk have been doing

At Voluntary Norfolk, over the last twelve months, we’ve tried to make volunteering as easy as possible. We’ve hosted a Vision for Volunteering conference bringing together businesses, statutory services, councils and the wider VCSE to look at ways to increase volunteering in the county. We’ve also made significant improvements to our GetInVOLved platform which lists the volunteering roles across the country – from King’s Lynn to Great Yarmouth and from Sheringham to Diss. Do have a look and find your next volunteering opportunity.

As we step into the New Year, I want to reaffirm the importance of volunteers in creating positive change. These efforts inspire and uplift, reminding us that, together, we can overcome challenges and build a brighter future. Thank you for being the heart of Norfolk’s community spirit.

Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with joy, fulfilment, and continued dedication to making a difference.

Warm regards,

Alan Hopley,

CEO Voluntary Norfolk
