Carnival Archive Project Volunteers

  • Managing the Archive – digitally capturing materials, cataloguing, filing, recording materials, attending and assisting with road shows and oral history events.
  • Collecting and Recording Materials – collecting materials from the public, groups etc, conducting oral history testimonies, taking photographs and films and assessing materials for inclusion.
  • Working with the Community – inspiring, encouraging and promoting the Archive to schools, colleges, universities and community groups.  To actively take part in the Archive, develop relationships with community groups, attend road shows, oral history events, Carnivals and other events.
  • Learning sessions – design session materials for specific groups, deliver sessions; assist in co-ordination of downloadable resources for schools, colleges and universities.
  • Carnival Ambassadors – promote the Archive project in local communities, represent the project at launches, civic receptions etc, give media interviews, encourage and inspire others to get involved.
  • Online volunteers – interpreting the Archive, developing narratives, act as test audience, contribute to blog and Facebook pages and to promote project to online community.

 

NORCA  Volunteers

  • Working with the In Harmony project – a social programme working with children in two primary schools in Norwich teaching classical instruments

(musical knowledge/experience not necessary);

  • Arts administration – helping behind the scenes of a successful arts charity.
  • Carnival projects – working with carnival participants, organisers and artists.
  • Helping set up play opportunities in city parks etc.
  • Occasional volunteering roles in assisting with concerts, events, occasions etc.
