Volunteer Centres

Voluntary Norfolk manages four Volunteer Centres, based in Norwich, Thetford, Great Yarmouth and Cromer. Each one helps individual volunteers to find the right volunteering opportunity and works with voluntary organisations across the county to match them with the perfect volunteers.

We do this by providing a brokerage service to all members of the community, irrelevant of their personal circumstances or backgrounds, sign-posting to the relevant organisations in need of extra volunteers based on their own needs and aspirations, and will support them throughout their entire voluntary ‘life cycle’ by providing extra information and support wherever needed. Basically, we are your friendly point of contact for all your volunteering needs.

Volunteers can drop in for an informal talk to explore volunteering options or make an appointment for a confidential discussion about specific volunteering roles.

Volunteers who have recently visited us have said that:

  • they found the service very helpful
  • enjoying the volunteering experience
  • would like to explore more volunteering opportunities
  • since I started volunteering, I have successfully gained paid employment
  • I don’t have any complaints about your service, the staff are very friendly and helpful

At any one time, there can be over 300 volunteering opportunities available around Norfolk. Voluntary Organisations and community groups are encouraged to contact us for posting their volunteering opportunities online.

Full members of Voluntary Norfolk can promote any volunteering opportunities through our network of volunteer centres and on our websites free of charge.

For non-members there is a small charge as follows:

£15 + vat for an individual opportunity

£50 + vat for 5 opportunities per year

£90 + vat for 10 opportunities per year

Volunteer Centres are able to support Voluntary/Public Organisations and community groups in matters relating to volunteer management which includes recruitment, volunteer roles, volunteer support and supervision, volunteers and the law, volunteer policy etc.  Volunteer management training can be tailored for your organisation’s needs at a nominal fee.

Voluntary Norfolk is also a partner organisation to assist with Investing in Volunteers and our Volunteer Centres can help you with this process.
