Information and support with applying for money from a range of easy to apply for funds – Grassroots Grants, Norfolk Community Foundation and Awards for All – and to meet other groups in an informal setting with coffee and cake.

Introduction to Finance

Thursdays 26 February, 5, 12 March, 10am – 12noon

This three session course will tell you everything you need to know about finance for your group – from reading a balance sheet right through to having the confidence to prepare your own. Will
be useful for staff, trustees, treasurers and anyone wanting to know more. Presented by Phil Goddard, Director of Finance for Break – Norfolk’s largest local charity and treasurer and trustee of a local group.

Network lunch

Bring along your ideas and issues and discuss them over lunch with people from other groups to get a different perspective. Paul Smith will introduce and lead a discussion on volunteer management.

Full Cost Recovery

All that you need to know about Full Cost Recovery, including how to use it in your planning and incorporate it into your funding bids.

Funding lunch

An informal networking lunch with funding being the main topic of conversation. Grassroots Grants, the Norfolk Community Foundation and Awards for All plus the opportunity to air and share issues with other groups in your area. Light lunch provided.

Marketing Strategies

An interactive session to show the importance in promoting your group and how to go about it – including understanding who your audience is and how to reach them.

Volunteers and the Law

Wednesday 29 April, 10am – 4pm

This course covers the main areas of concern for organisations who use volunteers. Topics include recent and forthcoming changes in the law, including the new Independent Safeguarding Authority.
This course will be presented by Mark Restall, co-author of the Good Practice Guide, the leading volunteer management handbook.
