Voluntary Norfolk membership leaflet 2010
These are difficult times for all of us in the voluntary and community sector. Funding is hard to find, local government and health service priorities are changing and central government is looking to shake up society - and our sector’s place within it - in a way not seen for decades.
Now, more than ever, it is vital to have access to up-to-date information and support.
Now, more than ever, it is vital to be a member of an organisation that gives a voice to the concerns of local groups and that fights for the voluntary and community sector across the county.
Voluntary Norfolk has been doing this for over 40 years. What started as a handful of volunteers back in 1969 has developed into an organisation that employs staff around the county, dedicated to the proposition that voluntary organisations, their staff and volunteers, are at the heart of Norfolk life and that the services that they provide should be protected and nurtured as much as possible.
Today our member organisations enjoy access to a wide range of advice and support services, each designed to help them to grow and to thrive.
Our member organisations get the information they need when they need it – information about funding, available grants, central government thinking, new local priorities and changes to legislation. Weekly email bulletins, copies of Voluntary Norfolk News by post, and the help that we can offer from our Development Workers and specialist support staff, mean that our members have the information, advice and support they need to make a real difference.
We also offer a range of high quality, affordably-priced back office services through Charity BackRoom, our comprehensive service for payroll, accountancy, CRB checks, insurance, meeting room hire, and a job recruitment website. Some of these services have attractive discounts for members.
Full members of Voluntary Norfolk can promote any volunteering opportunities through our network of volunteer centres and on our websites free of charge.
And of course members know that they have a way of getting their voices heard and of being a part of an organisation that will fight for the sector every inch of the way: all this for as little as £18 a year.
