Volunteer Service – Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust
Could you be the friendly face that brightens up someone’s day, or the person behind the scenes that keeps services running smoothly?
Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) are looking to welcome caring, compassionate and conscientious volunteers to their team, to complement the work of their health care professionals.
Volunteers can support patients in a variety of ways, including running activity groups on the wards at local community hospitals, visiting patients at home to encourage them to manage their own health conditions, and providing vital admin support for busy teams.
This complementary care and support can make a big difference to someone receiving health care, either on the ward or at home.
Volunteers right for this role will be happy working independently to high standards, comfortable in a hospital environment and able to make a regular weekly commitment of between 1-4 hrs, depending on the role. A friendly and approachable manner is vital, as well as good time keeping skills.
You will need to undergo a DBS check, which is free of charge, and provide two appropriate character references. Training will be provided for all volunteers, with specialist training provided if you take on a more challenging role. You will be supported in your volunteering role by your local co-ordinator as well as the staff team your placement is with, where appropriate.
We have opportunities available across Norwich, South and North Norfolk.
