Great Yarmouth Voluntary Sector Partnership (VSP)

Voluntary Norfolk is the lead partner in the Great Yarmouth Voluntary Sector Partnership (VSP). The VSP combines the skills, expertise and enthusiasm of voluntary sector groups in the Borough and works to achieve strong and cohesive communities.

A major role of VSP is to facilitate dialogue and advocate for the Third Sector in Great Yarmouth at a higher strategic level. To make this possible the VSP actively supports a series of key networks and facilitates the Communities Network.

Through our Development Support we assist groups to access funding, to understand and implement recognised standards of best practice, to work towards sustainability and to compliment local and sub-regional priorities.

We administer and facilitate two separate small grant schemes, the NHS Small Grants and WNF Small Grants.  Both schemes enable local small voluntary and community groups apply for funding to compliment health and worklessness agendas in Great Yarmouth.

Great Yarmouth - Stronger Communities

Great Yarmouth Borough Council has commissioned a wide range of services aimed at supporting strong and cohesive communities, as well as promoting access to a range of employment support options. Neighbourhood and rural development work, intergenerational projects and soft skills training is just a snapshot of the new services which are now getting ready to deliver in partnership with local residents.

As well as supporting working neighbourhoods, Great Yarmouth Borough Council also commissioned a wide range of services to help deliver on its objective of building; ‘safe, strong and cohesive communities where diversity is valued’. Once again, the third sector has been extensively commissioned to undertake this work, and Voluntary Norfolk looks forward to working alongside the Council to deliver this work.
