The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure service run by Voluntary Norfolk is available to the voluntary and community sector as well as the private sector.  Members of Voluntary Norfolk are entitled to a discount on our administration charge.  To find out more about becoming a member of Voluntary Norfolk, go to the Voluntary Organisation section above or go to our Membership page.  Full details of the charges for the service are shown below.

If your organisation works with children and/or vulnerable adults and wishes to incorporate CRB checks into your staff appointment or volunteer recruitment processes you must:

• be entitled to ask exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 Exceptions Order 1975; and
• be able to comply with the CRB’s Code of Practice.

Voluntary Norfolk is an umbrella organisation for the CRB Disclosure service.  This means we can then act as an intermediary between yourselves and the CRB for processing your disclosure applications.

Self-employed individuals cannot apply for a CRB check for themselves. Instead, any such individual should to apply to www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/apply-online where details of unspent convictions can be obtained. Alternatively, individuals can make a “subject access” request to their local police force under the Data Protection Act 1988 which will provide details of any criminal record in the UK.
