Be Ready For it – Planning Positively for the End of Life
Voluntary Norfolk is proud to be supporting the Be Ready For It campaign, which brings attention to the need to plan positively for the end of life. This is seen as a difficult topic, often regarded as taboo, but the philosophy of the campaign is that planning for the end of life should be part of life-planning, just as planning for weddings, births, moving house or holidays are. It’s a very important time to get things right, and it is possible to make many positive choices that make the end of a life easier both for the person who is dying and for those caring for them
There are resources that can help with planning positively for the end of life, and many of them can be found at http://bereadyforit.org.uk
Working with Health East Clinical Commissioning Group and Community Action Suffolk, Voluntary Norfolk will be incorporating information about positive end of life planning into our staff and volunteer training in order to help to break down the taboos, increase people’s confidence in discussing death and to encourage people to plan positively for something which is so important.
